I just read an article:
After Admitting Mistake, AstraZeneca Faces Difficult Questions About Its Vaccine

It reminded me of an article last week in USA Today titled: We’re Celebrating Thanksgiving Amid A Pandemic. Here’s How We Did It In 1918 – And What Happened Next.
https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/nation/2020/11/21/covid-and-thanksgiving-how-we-celebrated-during-1918-flu-pandemic/6264231002/

[BEGIN EXCERPT]
The problem [in 1918]? Researchers didn’t know influenza was a virus.

“The vaccine that was made was a vaccine against (a bacteria), which they thought was the cause of influenza,” Markel said. “So not only were vaccines of this era crude and not all that effective, the vaccine that they did produce was for the wrong organism.”

Vaccine science was nowhere near the scientifically advanced level of 2020, said Markel… The study of virology was in its infancy, and researchers didn’t have the tools to see viruses. Though bacteria are much larger and can be viewed under a light microscope, viruses require an electron microscope, which had not been invented in 1918, Markel said.

The vaccines that researchers developed did not stop an impending third wave of the flu.
[END OF EXCERPT]

FROM THE ADEPT:
“It is the height of hubris and the pinnacle of naivete to think that the same species of human–those who brought you the 1918 vaccine; the Tuskegee syphilis experiment on humans without their knowledge or consent; pharmaceutical drugs that are recalled, toxic and contaminated, rife with side effects and known to cause cancer; those who sell substandard medicine and products to “developing” nations; those who accept bribes to look the other way as they approve pharmaceutical drugs known to be poisonous; those who caused and profited from the opioid crisis; those who sell tainted formula to infants–[it is folly to think that they] know more, care more, are more ethical, more empathic, less motivated by money or less prone to making mistakes just as they did in 1918.”–The Ageless Adept

p.s. FYI: Quantas Airlines reportedly will require proof of vaccination in order to fly.

TRUMPTY DUMPTY

Trumpty Dumpty promised a wall
Trumpty Dumpty did nothing at all
All of his crowing and all of his lies
couldn’t derail his November surprise

Trumpty Dumpty knew Covid was real
but lied to us all with a con artist’s zeal
Despite his assurance it would all disappear
at burying dead we are now without peer

Trumpty Dumpty birther supreme
tried to belittle Obama’s esteem
Obama served twice, but the vote doth confirm
Trumpty fell short of his own second term

Trumpty Dumpty empathy-free
Couldn’t care less about you and me
From heroes to vets and to kiddies in cages
all grist for the mill for the grift of the ages

Trumpty Dumpty man with a scam
paid little in taxes to old Uncle Sam
Now district attorneys and creditors too
are all lining up for comeuppance is due

Trumpty Dumpty trickster in chief
had a great fall to much global relief
[Despite interference by forces abroad
Inane allegations about voter fraud
the process held firm and was simply not flawed]
Now all the king’s horsemen and all the king’s men
can’t stop this nightmare from reaching its end

“Should I go one more day? I’m feeling much better now!”

Good question. Let’s say you’ve been on an extended fast for a few days and woke up one morning with a noticeable improvement. Your eyes might be clearer and sharper; your energy level is high; your nasal passages have felt clearer than they’ve been for years. Great! Be sure to CELEBRATE that win (or make plans to celebrate it after you’ve resumed normal eating). Now, it might be tempting to conclude that the fast has been successful and that you can now think about breaking it.

Not so fast! There are at least two reasons why you might want to give the fast at least one more day. The first reason is that you need to VERIFY that what you’re feeling is, indeed, a definite plateau or just a momentary peak in the continuous peak and valley journey of healing. It’s common wisdom that the healing process is often punctuated by days of feeling on top of the world followed by days feeling totally depleted. You don’t want to rush into breaking the fast too early.

Another good reason to take things a little slowly now is simply to give your body the gift of at least another night of healing. Healing happens most optimally at night. Give the body time to heal even more effectively in this new state of health!

“Is it time to break the fast?” Is this real hunger I’m feeling?” Even though I’ve done over a dozen extended water fasts over the years, and have published the books, Fast & Grow Young, and A Clean Cell Never Dies, these are questions for which I still don’t have personally satisfying answers. I know what the official answer is:

“The primary indication that the fast is to be
broken is the return of hunger. All other
indications are secondary. Often, one or more
of these secondary signs are absent when
hunger returns, but one should not refrain
from breaking the fast when there is an
unmistakable demand for food…”

Herbert Shelton, Fast & Grow Youmg

But, I’m still at a loss when it comes to recognizing the return of hunger in my own personal experience. I’ve experienced the desire for food; I’ve experienced the need to simply crunch on something (which I then spit out) during a fast. I’ve experienced day dreams about the meals I’ll cook once the fast is done; I’ve experienced an empty morning stomach, but these may be psychological cravings rather than true hunger.

Over the years, I’ve broken fasts for reasons other than it being “the right time.” I’ve broken a fast in order to have enough time to look “healthy” for an upcoming tour I was scheduled to do. I’ve broken a fast because I was simply looking too gaunt and didn’t want to scare the people in the neighborhood.

I’m currently on a 10 day fast started with the goal of reducing my parasite load and refreshing my liver. So, I did a little research to get some input from other fasters to add to my list of signs of when the body’s detoxifcation is complete and, therefore, when to break a fast.

▪ pink tongue

▪  sweet breath

▪  low body temperature, returns to normal.

▪  elevated blood pressure and pulse return to normal.

▪  elevated blood sugar returns to normal.

▪  skin reactions become normal

▪  bad taste in the mouth goes away

▪  excess saliva production becomes normal.

▪  eyes become bright and eye sight improves.

▪  stool loses its odor.

▪  urine becomes light, clear and almost white in color.

▪  circulation improves (warm hands and feet; pink nails)

▪  improved feelings of lightness, well-being, peace, clarity of thought, optimism, cheer and contentment (detoxification is emotional, too)

▪  increased conscious union with spirit and ones ancestors (detoxifcation is spiritual, too)

▪  dreams are more vivid and better remembered

▪  heightened sense of purpose and meaning

▪  thought processes are clear and faster. Ideas and inspiration are abundant.

Next, how to recognize real hunger:

FRIDAY, OCT 2, 2020

DONE- Day 2 of my extended water fast;
I share the thoughts that get me through it in a new blog category called “Think & Fast Long. (Who knows? I may create a CD or app of my motivational words for fasters!) In the meantime, check out the blog posts at https://www.waltgoodridge.com/store/category/think-and-fast-long/)

DONE- 1. write a new Pandemicpreneur blog post (Website)

DONE- 2. post to Pandemicpreneur Blog & add to mautic sequence & promote to facebook, et.al.

DONE- 4. update jamaicaninchina posts (200) on blogs.jamaicans.com (Linkback marketing)

– 10. add episode to JamaicaninChina™ e-chronicles sequence (Mautic)
– 11. add episode to SaipanWriters™ & GuamWriters™ Writers e-course sequence (Mautic)

done- read grant requirements
Don’t tell anyone…it’s top secret, but I’m applying for a grant. Part of the reason is to recommend and explain this strategy as part of The Pandemicpreneur book. Since I never recommend anything I’ve not personally tried or experienced, I need to do this research to stay true to my brand and promise. I’ll share more if and when!

DONE- search how to post to multiple Facebook pages
With 84 Facebook pages to manage, I decided look once again into an efficient way to post these blog entries to multiple pages in one easy step. There’ve been many WordPress plug-ins that have accomplished this, but updates to Facebook’s system have rendered most of them ineffective.

– find free alternative for Explaindio

– re-apply for Facebook API permission
I’m creating an in-house PERL program to grab the number of followers on each of my Facebook pages and return a total. This requires obtaining “permission” from Facebook to access the info on their pages. I applied, but was denied since I didn’t provide a specific bit of information in the application. Have to re-apply.

DONE- create historywewrite3dcovers.jpg
For my HistoryWeWrite site and mailing list
